The Partnership with Africa Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Potsdam, Germany.

Our mission is informed by the insight that in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, people across continents need to join hands and work together to come up with solutions to new global challenges. Civil society has a very crucial role to play in devising bottom-up solutions to common problems. Throughout history, change has depended on new ideas. In particular, the Partnership with Africa Foundation wants to tap into the potential of young and engaged people across borders. To make a lasting contribution to sustainable global development, we have devised the GLOBAL CHANGE MATES Fellowship together with activists from Germany, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda.
By bringing together networks of young and engaged citizens from Africa and Germany in this Fellowship programme, we seek to change perceptions, empower activists, generate engagement and enable transnational partnerships for local action.

With our work, we provide a platform where an ongoing and lively exchange of ideas between people from different cultures can take place, and from which long-term projects and partnerships can emerge.Past activities of the Partnership with Africa Foundation include:

COMENGA“: as the main programme of the „Africa Initiative“ by the German Ministry for Economic Cooper-ation and Development 2012 – 2014. „Go AfricaGo Germany…“: a scholarship exchange programme in cooperation with the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the German Federal Agency for Civic Education.

Through these activities we create and provide spaces for innovative, fertile and democratic discourse between young Africans and Germans.
